EU: Continuum

Well guys, what can I say? It has been a GLORIOUS two years (almost to the day) since we started Continuum and it has been home for so many of us for so long. But with the majority of the core team now looking to take a break from raiding for the first time since the Burning Crusade first hit it is time to wind down and relax until the next expansion.

Continuum will of course not disband, I will be logging in every now and then to make sure the kids are not jumping on the furniture and the Myther’s mum hasn’t started to use our TeamSpeak server as her “chat room” while she “works from home”, but for all purposes – we are now a social guild until Mists of Pandlolria.

A big thank you to the blood, sweat and tears (there have been all three. Mohal is such a pussy) from all the Officers who have literally fought to keep this place going through the good times and the hard times. If you havn’t been a GM/Officer in a guild, you simply don’t know how it can sap your soul at times. That said, it has been totally worth every minute.

This is not goodbye, eat your KitKat, relax and get ready for Panda fun.

Well that was fun…. not! lol. Its down, but what a debacle – the fight is buggy as hell and so many attempts wasted by people falling to their deaths when jumping to the final platform because the jump fails to proc, or the cataclysm still wiping the raid even after we kill the arm with time to spare…. or just double taps on the tanks.

The most frustrating thing? 10minutes of boring fight with no challenge just to get to phase 2 and have 90sec of hard fight. Thats not a good combination and I think I speak for everyone here when I say the fight is a bit of a disappointment. It could have been so much better.

Anyway – enough of the doom and gloom. Deathwing is down at last and heroics start on Wednesday. Good job all – lets start the progress!

Tonight we finished off the Firelands Meta-Achivement and got our hot birds:

And…. we’re back in the game! Its taken a while but we’re finally back in the Realm Top 5 listing – and we got the realm 3rd kill of MajorHomo at the same time.

Unfortunately the body of MajorHomo doesn’t look any more heroic than his normal body, but thats ok because HEROIC FEET R HEROIC!

Good job all, after a couple of raids practising not to get our faces raped we have successfully taken Shannox and his heroic puppies down….

Slightly less heroic however was the failure of a certain raid leader to take the kill screenshot. As exactly the same thing happened for normal mode kill I have upgraded the screenshot for that:

Another patch another chance of legendary awesomeness has arrived. Congrats to Grylph who has completed the first part and has the first part of the staff – onwards!

We used a piece of old cloth, torn from a larger piece to clean an informal newpaper that is of low regard. Fortunately we had no-one on “the boss” tonight and when loot rained from the heavens it was a real Rag to riches story…

Summary: Rag down. We Win. Collect 200g. Move directly to loot.

Ok lastly, a shout out to all the Shamans who have suffered so long on the DPS meters for so long while other “lesser classes” (ie – non-Shamans. lol) brush us to one side. Now is the time my Totem wielding brethren. Now is the time of our glory – smile and stand tall up on the lofty heights that is the top of the meters. Enjoy it while it lasts because… there is only one way to go from here…

3 nights raiding. 3 new bosses down and Raggy on 66%. Thats a damn fine weeks raiding if I do say so myself. We had a little bit of a slow start to 4.2, but we’re back in the game on a nice little run of boss decimation now!

6/7 – Only Raggy left now.

Last night was great, first we dispatched the Gatekeeper, then we put Firebird in her place. Wasn’t a difficult fight to be honest and it didn’t take us long to a couple of <20% tries.

Then just as we got to the third P1 event we…erm…. lost the tanks. This meant birds were just walking around munching people’s faces. 8% left on the boss and 9/10 people dead. A wipe surely?

Not if you are a shadow priest of epic (normally /fail…. but this time /win) proportions. With feathers in hand he proceeds to take a full 8% off the boss while the birds on the ground just look at him.

Most people released and went to walk back in, certain of a wipe but as the commentary from “the little Priest that could” kept coming over TS of 7%, 6%, 5%, 4%, 3%, 2% Teamspeak started to get more than a little excited.

The boss died. TS went crazy. Oggles shrugs it off as just another day in the office. Job well done and he gets a kill shot dedicated to himself, because it was an awesome kill:
